Modern Fossils | Art

The modern fossils by Christopher Locke are made from actual archaic technology that was once cutting-edge. Most of these examples were discovered in the United States, although the various species are represented all over the world. It has been shown recently that the true demise of most of these specimens came from runaway consumerism and wastefulness at the high end of the food chain.

Braun for Apple | Design

Dieter Rams was chef designer for Braun, when he designed the pocket radio T3 in 1958, which you could easily take for an iPod. But this is not the only product design Apple cribbed from Braun's designer. The loud speaker LE1 shares similarity with the iMac and the Apple G5 looks alike the radio T1000. Both products were established in 1960. Also the iPhone's calculator application is based on a design by Dieter Rams, the calculator ET66 from 1977. The common root of all these objects is the beautiful simplicity, which is the base of success for many new Apple products.

Universal Connections | Art

Given the current, often exotic use of USB the guys from dialog05 were inspired to use this interface, with all its possibilities and ambiguities as a medium to create installations, objects and products that are surprising, enlightening, inspiring and questioning, and on the other hand ironic or even amusing. Have a look.
